Letoya Luckett's "Lady Love" Album Cover + Video Premiere

I like the album cover. It's cute. Hey, it could've been a lot worse, I just hate the font.

Anyhow, Letoya's new video for She Ain't Got... finally premiered and boy is Letoya working it. I have to say, I expected it to be horrible (considering the recession and all) but it's actually a decent video! Letoya looks extremely sexy and ole' girl is even dancing in the video! Add to that the fact that I absolutely LOVE this song. This might just be my summer anthem.

Who's the cutie in the video? Mhm.

Janet Jackson Addresses The Fans

Wow. I can't even begin to feel her pain. The world has lost a legend. Can you believe that people have committed suicide over his death? Insane. You know, it didn't really sink in until just now, that he's really gone. May he rest in peace.

RIP Michael Jackson
[1958-2009]

Shakira's New Single "Loba"

Brilliant. It's so different and funky; you're either going to love this or hate it. What I really like about the song are its quirky lyrics. Who writes a song using wolves as a metaphor? Shakira does. I mean, this is the same woman who had a song about her hips & another one in which she compared her small breasts with mountains. If this song is any indication of how good her album is going to be, I'm excited. I did not really enjoy her Oral Fixation album. However, I LOVED Fijacion Oral, the Spanish version. Let's see what she comes up with this time around.

Loba ("She Wolf") is the first single off Shakira's forthcoming English album. The video was shot in Los Angeles last week and was directed by none other than Jake Nava ("Single Ladies").

Thoughts?

You can listen to the full song here.

I leave you with what has to be the best booty shaking I've ever seen by a female artist.

Sean Paul's "So Fine" Video

I'm a sucker for Sean Paul songs. Old, new, whatever the fuck they just make me want to hop on top of a table and dance away (speaking from experience). This song, is no different. While it does sound a tad bit dated, with the right promo I see this taking off the same way his previous singles have. That being said, this video is horrible, even for Sean Paul. I know we're in a recession and all, but shoot. His fourth studio album, Imperial Blaze, is set for release this August.

He's Black. No, he's Latino. No, he's both!

As as a Dominican, one of the things I'm constantly asked (and even confronted) about is my background. "Oh, you're black, not Latino." Or I'll even get, "Why do you rep Hispanic culture so much, when you're black."

I find it irritating how people like to dictate what YOU should represent or what nationality you are or what culture you most relate to.

Anyhow, I thought it'd be interesting to see what a lot of you thought about the following celebrities. All of them are Hispanic in one shape or form, but what do YOU view them as?

Ciara's "Work" Video

I <3 it. Ciara knows how to werq it. I've loved all her videos this era, including scrapped Go Girl, which at one point was the first single but somehow it didn't even make the album. Work was produced by Danja ("Gimme More," "Sober") while the video was directed by Melina Matsoukas ("Upgrade U"). The song wasn't a big favorite of mine but after seeing the video, I can tell it's going to be a grower. The video is hot, CiCi looks great, I love the construction zone setting & the styling is on point. Job well done!

P!nk's "Funhouse" Video

The video is not the epic masterpiece I was expecting, but I love it nonetheless. It's different & fresh and the song is one of my favorites off the album. The metaphors in the song are extremely creative. What impresses me the most about P!nk, asides from her powerful vocals, is her impressive writing skills; she paints this image for us to see & even if we don't quite understand it, we feel it. That and the fact that she has one of the most interesting video collections of any recent Pop artist. Funhouse will be the fourth single released in the United States (fifth in Australia) off P!nk's fifth studio album of the same name. I've LOVED every single video P!nk has released with the exception of her live videos & the Trouble video; not that it was a bad video, I just didn't like it. Anyhow, I feel like Dave Meyers and P!nk can do no wrong. I can't think of any other & video director that work so well together. Another job well done by P!nk, I hope this is a huge hit for her.

RichGirl To Open Up For Beyonce

RichGirl will be opening up for the U.S. portion of Beyonce's I Am... tour, I can exclusively confirm (via one of the member's Twitters)!

If you don't know who they are, get used to them because I'm telling you these girls are going to be big! From producer Rich Harrison ("Crazy In Love," "Soldier"), I introduce to you RichGirl:

If someone gathered J.LO, Nicole from PCD, Kelly Rowland & Beyonce and put them in a girl group, you'd RichGirl. Well, not really, but you get my drift. These girls can sing, they're beautiful & if their single is any indication, they're going to bring the heat. I've heard a couple of their unreleased tracks & I have to say, I'm impressed. Check out their official website for more info.

Beyonce's "Ego" Video Featuring Kanye West

This is one of the few songs on Beyonce's I Am... Sasha Fierce album that I absolutely love. Have you seen her perform this on her tour?

. . I love her big ego. What I don't love, however, is that horrible video she made for this wonderful song. Frank Gatson my man, I see what you were trying to do but it just didn't work. You actually failed, miserably. And Beyonce, I love you girl but we've seen parts of this video before, we saw it a few months ago in "Single Ladies" and we saw it when you released that pointless DVD Anthology (that should've been bundled with the album) on "Suga Mama." This video is wack as fuck. What's funny is that I actually like Kanye's intro(not his verse) more than the rest of the video. I don't know what happened, but somewhere along the B'Day era, the quality of her videos dropped tremendously. Blah, the video is extremely underwhelming. I'm going to need her to look at some Pink (shit, or even Lady Gaga or dare I say Rihanna) videos so she can get inspired again.

I have a love/hate relationship with Beyonce. As big of a stan as I am, I have to say Beyonce needs to step her game up a little bit. She's slacking. Come on B. don't slack on me now. Where's the Beyonce who used to make videos like this:

.. or even this:

Girl, you are moving backwards. For someone who talks all day & might about how she wants to be iconic & a legend, the girl sure has a long way to go. These $2 videos ain't going to help you much. Talking about cheap videos, she's releasing a video anthology for this album (if she doesn't bundle it with the re-release of the album I'm going to go crazy) & I'm not looking forward to it in the least bit. Well, maybe just for the "Sweet Dreams" and "Video Phone" videos. Fuck it, who am I kidding? I love me some Beyonce, I just need for her to step her fucking game up. With all these messy ass double-singles releases & lackluster videos, she really needs to look at the current reigning Pop radio Queen, Lady Gaga, and see how shit is done. Yea, I said it. End rant.

Christina Aguilera Update

Rumor has it that Christina Aguilera's next album will be titled Light & Darkness. Christina has been busy working on her futuristic-themed album with Le Tigre, Sia, Goldfrapp, DJ Premiere, Tricky, Linda Perry and Ladytron among others.

"My last album had a vintage, retro, glam appeal. And this next album which I am almost finished and am about to release has a very modern sense about it," Christina Aguilera recently said. "Futuristic in terms of looking into the future and giving it a new twist and a new sensibility. I am working with a lot of electro artists to make that come alive. That is what really inspires me at the moment."

Are you guys excited for this new Christina Aguilera? Man, oh man, let me tell you guys, I was a huge fan of Ms. Aguilera back during the Stripped era. Nearly seven years later, & I still think that the album is one of the best Pop albums I have ever heard (Pink's Missundaztood is another one) and by far her best album to date. The critics might have disagreed at the time of its release (shoot, they still might) but I think that Stripped was damn near flawless. The writing, production and vocals were all top notch and I give Christina a lot of credit because not too many female artists could've pulled it off the way she did. And don't get me started on the fabulous single choices & videos:

Say what you want, but when that video came out, EVERYBODY, was talking about it. Yea, the song didn't reach the level of success they expected (for many different reasons) but that didn't hurt the following single(s) one bit.

My only gripe is that she didn't release Walk Away, which is in my opinion, one of her best songs ever. I mean, just listen to her:

She lost me with Back to Basics. Though the album, surprisingly, received great reviews (many critics claim it's her best work to date), I thought Back to Basics was incredibly underwhelming, overambitious and at its best, a mediocre album that could've been better had she got rid of all that damn filler. Not to mention, the album didn't sell as well as her previous efforts & the singles weren't the big hits one would've expected from Christina Aguilera. And while the futuristic Keeps Getting Better wasn't horrible, it definitely wasn't her best.

With all that said, I have extremely high hopes for Light & Darkness. I know the girl has it in her, she's done it before. Question is, can she do it again?

Sebastian Stan in "Out" Magazine

Sebastian Stan (Gossip Girl, Kings) is featured in the latest issue of Out magazine. Check out the scans below:

PHOTOGRAPHY BY NINO MUNOZ

I'm not a big fan of Mr. Stan, even though I loved him on the recently canceled (and superb) TV show, Kings. But the reason I even bothered posting this is because of the photographer responsible for this shoot. I recently discovered his work and he's quickly becoming one of my favorites. Nino Munoz is responsible for tons of today's best magazine covers and has worked with Hollywood's most beautiful women (and men). He has the intriguing ability to make the simplest things look interesting.

Good shit.

"The Final Destination" Movie Trailer

Meh, I haven't enjoyed a Final Destination film since the first one, so I have no intentions of going out to see this one. It's the same shit, different cast, different scenario. I'll pass. The film hits theaters August 28th.

Unreleased Kanye West "Spaceship" Video

This was one of my favorite songs off Kanye West's debut album, College Dropout. I have no idea why this is leaking now or why it was never released as a single. I actually like this video more than his new one for Paranoid.

David Guetta Feat. Kelly Rowland "When Love Takes Over" Video

I'm in love with this song! The video is not the most creative or original, but Kelly Rowland looks stunning in it & refreshing; it finds the song perfectly. I really hope this is a big hit for Ms. Kelly, she deserves it. Not only that, but the song is HOT! The clubs are going to eat this up! Job well done David Guetta.

What Would You Do?

Scenario: You've been in a relationship married for seven years. Your spouse? Extremely rich and works for one of the biggest corporations in the country. You live in a nice ass home in a rich town & have a kid or two. Everything is going great until you find out that your spouse is cheating on you, occasionally, that is. You've found out that your spouse has been cheating on you during his/her once-every-couple-of-months "business" trips, always with the same person too. What do you do? Do you break up/divorce the person? Do you ignore it? Do you try and make things work? Note that you're pretty much all out on your own, away from family & friends and that your spouse is extremely wealthy and the one maintaining you. Are there certain circumstances/measures in which you would allow cheating? Or is cheating always ground for a divorce/breakup. And for those who say "it depends," what exactly does that mean?

Chime in.

Kanye West's Official Video For "Paranoid"

I like the video. It's not his best video, it could've been better & I actually had a completely different concept in my head for this song, but it's not bad. I want to hear the remix which features Rihanna.
