"Halo" Performance


I LOVE how bubbly she full of LIFE she's been in her recent interviews. She's so full of emotion now, a complete 180 of the bland and boring Beyonce we're so used to seeing. As for that Halo performance, it was nice and she looked beautiful. I love the song (which by the way, moves up one spot this week on the Hot 100 to #12). That being said, I would like for her to perform this song in its original key, not an octave lower. It changes the "umph" and feel of the song when she sings it so low. I know she can pull it off. =]

Beyonce Chokes Up During Interview + New Video Announced

Aww, I've never seen Beyonce choke up like that. She's so adorable. Reminds me how much I love my mother. <3

In other Beyonce news, the video for Sweet Dreams has been booked. The video is going to be directed by Adria Petty (Duffy's "Mercy"). Click here for more info.

Beyonce has released four singles thus far: If I Were A Boy, Single Ladies, Diva and Halo. Two more are on the way (the videos for Broken-Hearted Girl & Ego have already been shot as they're the next singles) and apparently Beyonce is shooting the video for Sweet Dreams right now (her choreographer and assistant confirmed this). And there are rumors (and pictures) circulating that suggest she's shot videos for Smash Into You, Scared of Lonely and Radio already. Shit, how many singles does Beyonce plan on releasing from this album? Lord knows, but if her last album is any indication, we should be getting a re-release and a video anthology really soon.

I've never really been a fan of Teairra, so I really don't know if she's your typical/bland R&B chick or if she actually has some depth to her. Whatever the case may be, she's back with a new single and the video actually looks like it's going to be good. Hm, we shall see.

Solange Performs "T.O.N.Y." on Jimmy Fallon

That was a good performance! This girl is so underrated. Yea, she may come off as a immature and a know-it-all sometimes, but the girl is extremely talented. I still bump Sol-Angel & The Hadley Street Dreams to this day, which is interesting to me because I haven't listened to her big sister's album in quite some time. I like the fact that she takes risks, even if they don't work. I can't wait to see what she comes up with next.

Best R&B and Pop Albums of the Last Decade

The 90's had Lauryn Hill. Mary J. Blige. Monica. I think even Brandy delivered a near classic record. I can name countless albums by both male and female artists (from the 90's) that are considered "classic" albums today. So let's fast forward to the new millennium: what albums, that have been released in the last ten years or so, do you consider classics? Ten years from today, what albums will be remembered and cherished from the 2000's as "timeless" or damn near masterpieces? These albums quickly come to mind:

For those who don't know who he is, Tony Ward is a 45-year-old model, designer, actor, painter & photographer who's been in the industry since the early 80's. He dated Madonna in the 90's and has modeled for Calvin Klein underwear. He was good friends with the late Herb Ritts, one of my favorite photographers ever.
