Fox Locks Up Female Prison Break Spinoff

Prison Break may be trending downards for Fox, but the network believes it still may be strong enough to launch a women-behind-bars spinoff.

The tentatively titled Prison Break: Cherry Hill will be written by Matt Olmstead, an executive producer on the original series, and Zach Estrin, a co-executive producer. Like the original, Cherry Hill will be produced by 20th Century Fox TV.

Cherry Hill's central character--a woman who is wronged by the nefarious "Company"-- most likely will be introduced in a Prison Break episode later this season.

If the spinoff doesn't move forward, that character reportedly could continue as a regular on the original series. [x]

A female version of "Prison Break?" Sounds interesting. "Prison Break" has fallen off tremendously since it first premiered 3 seasons ago and I think it's running on it's last legs. Makes sense to prep the spinoff.
