Gnarl's Barkley "Run" Video Banned From MTV

I love this group. I love their videos. MTV apparently does not. It seems as though this video has been banned from MTV because it can cause seizures. Yes, that's right, seizures.

Though Gnarls Barkley is ready for fans to see their new video, the clip is apparently in danger of seeing the light of day.

Though the video for the group's new single, "Run," which features a cameo appearance from Justin Timberlake, is available via various online outlets it is being temporarily banned from airing on MTV, according to Billboard.

The clip reportedly failed the Harding Test, a set of regulations put in place to prevent television images from causing epileptic seizures, because of the video's strobe effects. And though there seems to have been a bit of controversy generated by the video, the group themselves don't see the problem.

"I don't know exactly what's going on, but we're having issues," Danger Mouse told Billboard. "I think [the video] is cool. It works for me. But I'm not necessarily that easily seasick. We can't predict how people are going to interpret it."

The video's plot revolves around a fictional television show set in the 1990's, which is hosted by Timberlake, and features Gnarls Barkley performing as a guest on the show.

In related news the group is preparing to shoot another clip for their song "Who's Gonna Save My Soul," set to be directed by Chris Milk. The group is also hoping to enjoy the same type of success that they experienced on their freshman effort with this follow-up disc.

"We didn't plan last time to do a whole bunch, and we don't plan to do a whole bunch this time, but you just never know how it's going to feel until you go out there," said Danger Mouse.

The group is also gearing up to promote the album's release by performing both in the U.S. and abroad this summer.

Gnarls Barkley's The Odd Couple, which features the single "Run," is set for an April 8 release. [x]
